過兩天就是一年一度的 Google I/O 大會，而 Android 主管 Sundar Pichai 在 Google I/O 前接受了 Wired 訪問，當中談及了今年 Google I/O 的預期。
上年 Google I/O 展示了多項新產品 Nexus 4, Nexus 7, Nexus Q 都是吸引消費者的注目，另外還有從天而降的 Google Glass。不過 Pichai 表示，今年跟過往不同，焦點不是放在硬件又或新版本的操作系統，焦點會放在技術開發上，讓開發者更易開發應用。
It’s going to be different. It’s not a time when we have much in the way of launches of new products or a new operating system. Both on Android and Chrome, we’re going to focus this I/O on all of the kinds of things we’re doing for developers, so that they can write better things. We will show how Google services are doing amazing things on top of these two platforms.
其實之前有關 Google I/O 的傳言，也可約略知悉一二。首先，有傳言指 Google I/O 上會公佈 Android 新版本 4.3，這個只是小版本跳升，沒有大改動，就像 4.1 升 4.2 般。另外，有指今年 Google I/O 不會推出新手機，只會推出 4G LTE 版本的 Nexus 4，而平板亦只是推出 New Nexus 7，同樣是上年的後繼機，不是特別的新產品。
