Google 和 Samsung 公佈，兩間公司已經簽訂長達 10年的全球專利交义授權協議。協議授權兩家公司使用對方目前已有的專利，以及在未來10年內所提交申請的專利。
Google 表示，達成這樣的協議，可以減少訴訟，並更專注於創新開發。

而 Samsung 則表示，協議可讓同業展示，從相互合作所獲得，遠多於參與不必要的訴訟。

其實過去在專利戰上，Google 跟 Samsung 都是盟友，主要對手都是 Apple。今次的協議進一步鞏固兩者關係，當然協議亦有利於兩間公司在新科技的開發。
