上年 HTC One 也有推出 Google Play Edition 版本 (GPE)，就是系統無添加，是純 Android 系統，沒有廠商自家 Apps。而將會在 25/3 公佈的 All New HTC One (M8) 也會有 Google Play Edition。
@evleaks 在 Twitter 貼出消息，表示 M8 也會有 Google Play Edition。
Also, like its predecessor, look for M8 to arrive as a Google Play Edition.
不過，香港 Play Store 沒有 Google Play Edition 手機售賣，但對 Custom ROM 開發來說，有 GPE 版本也是相對較方便呢。
