在 Google I/O 2017 Keynote 上，亦講述了一些 VR 和 AR 的發展。
Samsung Galaxy S8 和 S8+ 將會在今年夏季會有軟件更新，之後裝置就會 Daydream-ready，可配合 Daydream VR 平台使用。Google 亦透露 LG 下半年一部旗艦裝置亦會是 Daydream-ready。
跟 HTC VIVE, Lenovo 合作
Daydream 亦會支援 Standalone VR headset。不用連接電話或電腦可獨立使用，裝置會有全新的 Headset Tracking 技術 WorldSense，可以準確追踪頭戴裝置的在空間上移。Google 會跟 Qualcomm 合作製訂 Standalone Headset 參考設計，並會跟 HTC VIVE 和 Lenovo 合作，預計今年稍後時間會有第一個裝置推出。
Visual Positioning Services
AR 方面，今年夏天另一部 Tango 裝置會推出市場，就是 Asus ZenFone AR。技術方面，Visual Positioning Service (VPS) 可以幫助裝置更快更準確理解室內所在位置。GPS 用於室外，VPS 就可以用於室內可以幫助指引前往物件位置。例如在大型的家品又或博物館，透過 VPS 技術裝置可以判斷週遭物件，識別出所在位置並在畫面上顯示指引前往方向。這些功能若配合聲音界面輔助，可以用於協助視障人仕。
