Google Play Movies & TV 上年已推出了 4K UHD 畫質選擇，較之前只提供 HD 和 SD 質素提升了不少。最新亦開始支援 HDR Playback。
HDR 即是 High Dynamic Range，HDR 可以讓影像畫面的寬容度提高，無論在光暗和色彩上都更細緻更清晰，例如在光白的天空位置不會全白，在暗黑環境下亦不會全黑，也會看到當中的細節部份。現在 Play Store 上部份 4K UHD 影片也兼容 HDR Playback，只要用家的電視裝置支援就可以有 HDR Playback 播放。
不過，HDR Playback 現在只於美國和加拿大推出，其他地區還未提供。
HDR allows for images with a wider range of brightness and color. You will automatically receive HDR quality if both the 4K UHD title you have purchased and your TV support HDR.
