Sony Mobile 旗下手機一直都沿用 OmniBalance 設計風格，無論是 Xperia XZ, 還是之前的 Xperia XA1，手機外形風格都十分相似。
這個 OmniBalance 已經看了很久。手機屏幕上下都留有較闊空間，機身右側就有按鈕，中央就是銀色圓形的電源開關按鈕，較下位置就有相機按鈕。機背設計亦一致，圓形相機鏡頭就設在左上角，中間位置就有 Xperia 字樣。不過，Sony 下一步旗艦機將會轉變，會有全新設計風格。
市場上無邊框 18:9 闊屏幕成為旗艦機主流，Sony Mobile 若要跟隨的話，手機設計風格也需要改變。Sony Mobile 印度高層在一個訪問中透露，Sony 正計劃推出下一代新產品，並會有全新的設計風格。
