Google 為 Android 系統推出了四月份安全更新，Essential Phone 亦一如既往隨即推出相應更新，包含了四月份安全更新，亦改進了最少光亮度和音量設定。
New features include:
– Google Security Patches 2019-04
– Adjustments to minimum brightness and volume settings
Essential 亦已經開始向裝置推送 OTA Update，還快過 Google Pixel Phones 呢。Google 已在網站放出了Pixel 裝置最新的 Factory 和 OTA Images，但是仍未開始為推送 OTA Update。
