Google 每年一度的開發者大會，原定於 5月12-14日於美國加洲舉行，但受到武漢肺炎肆虐威脅下，Google 宣佈取消 Google I/O 2020。
Google 表示，因為武漢肺炎肆虐，並依從美國疾控中心 CDC, 世䘙等組織建議，決定取消在美國加洲舉行的 Google I/O 實體活動。
Due to concerns around the coronavirus (COVID-19), and in accordance with health guidance from the CDC, WHO, and other health authorities, we have decided to cancel the physical Google I/O event at Shoreline Amphitheatre.
Google Developers Twitter 亦發佈了相關訊息，並表示會研究考慮其他方法跟全球各地的開發者聯繫。估計 Google 會改以網上直播 Livestream 代替相關活動。之前 MWC 2020 取消後，一些廠商亦改以網上直播舉行發佈會作替代，相信 Google 亦會有類似做法。
武漢肺炎至今已經影響多個科技界的年度大會，包括 全球移動通訊大會 MWC 2020, 遊戲開發者大會 GDC 2020, Facebook F8 Developer Conference, 以及 Google I/O 2020。
