Google 在 2019年為 WearOS 改進，在操作界面加設資訊方塊 Tiles 功能，用家在 WearOS 智能手表主畫面右掃就可以查看不同的資訊方塊，例如天氣, Google Fit 等。
但這些資訊方塊一直只限於 Google Apps 或廠商 OEM Apps 才可應用，Google 官方沒有提供任何 API 供開發應用，其他第三方 Apps 開發商無從入手，只可以靠一些非正式方法夾硬設置 Custom Tiles。終於 Google 推出了 Jetpack Tiles Library Alpha 版本，可以讓開發商為 WearOS 應用程式製作 Custom Tiles。

Google 更表示在今季內會向 WearOS 裝置推送更新，屆時用家就可使用 Custom Tiles。Google 亦在 Android Developers 網站為 Custom Tiles 提供了 Best Practices 讓開發人員參考，以使 custom tiles 符合平台要求。
