“Pry-Fi” App 是由知名 developer Chainfire 開發的新 App，可以將手機裝置的 Mac Address 不斷隨機變化，以避免手機裝置透過 Wifi 被追踪。當然手機是要 Root 的。
Wifi, MAC Address, 追踪
先講講情況問題，很多人都會一直開啟著手機裝置的 Wifi，到 Cafe, 商場, 又或一些公共設施時就自動接上提供的 Wifi 網絡，可以免費上網。在 Wifi 掃描過程中，手機就會向外提供一些基本資料作掃描連接之用，例如 MAC address，以及之前已儲存的 Wifi 網絡名稱地址。
A fairly new trend in (for example) retail is tracking customer’s movements by snooping Wi-Fi signals. If your Wi-Fi is turned on, even though it is not connected to any network, your phone will periodically broadcast a unique number (the MAC address), as well as all the Wi-Fi network names and addresses it remembers ever connecting to.
例如用家經常光顧連鎖集團的 Cafe，若果對方 “有心” 的話，就可以藉此追踪用家，翻查用家的行踪，識別出是否為重覆訪客，甚至跟店舖的零售系統配對，查找出用家的消費模式。
隨意 Random MAC Address
當然較簡單解決方法，就是不開啟 Wifi，但就少了一點方便，亦不可透過 Wifi 改進定位。Pry-Fi App 就提供了一個可行的解決方法，當 Wifi 開啟而未接上網絡時，Pry-Fi 就會將手機的 MAC Address 以一個特定模式作 pseudo-random，”有心” 追踪的仍會視之為一個真人個體，不過 MAC Address 不會再被使用，他們的追踪數據就會摻入了很多組沒關連的資料。

而當手機接上 Wifi 網絡時，Pry-Fi 就會 random MAC address，而同一個 MAC Address 更不會重覆在這個或其他的 Wifi Network 上使用。
War Mode
而 Pry-Fi 更有 War 模式，可以模擬成一大批人在使用 Wifi。只要在 Wifi 網絡下啟動 War Mode 數分鐘，就可以將他們的追踪數據破掉。
Pry-Fi comes with a War mode, which when enabled tries to make your Android device appear like dozens of people. Just wandering around an area under Wi-Fi location surveillance for a few minutes can ruin the tracking data for the period of your stay.
