CyanogenMod ROM 是最大型的 Android Custom ROM，有过百万用家采用。而对应 Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich 的 CM9 仍在开发中，推出时间仍未有消息。不过 CyanogenMod 团队贴文，讲述了 CM9 的进度，和不同机种的开发支援。
调较功能和操作体验作平衡
由于 Android 4.0 跟 Android 2.3 有很大改动，而程式码亦完全不同。所以 Cyanogen 团队在开发时，除了将 CM7 的功能移植至 CM9，亦会一并考虑重新设计和整合的事宜。尤其是 CM7 提供了大量选项给用家，但用家普遍只会集中用小部份的项目，所以亦会在调较功能和操作体验上作出平衡。

而开发过程中，遇到的问题多是 Android 4.0 改动需要新的图像驱动程式。但这些驱动程式大部份都不是 Open Source，所以遇到一定限制，或需使用其他替代方案。
不同装置开发支援情况
暂时已可将 CM9 编译并在小部份装置运行，包括 Galaxy Nexus, Neuxs S, Galaxy Tab 10.1, HP TouchPad, 和 Motorola Xoom。接下来可支援的为采用 Exynos 芯片的 Samsung 手机和 Qualcomm MSM8660 和 7×30 (Snapdragon S2 和 S3) 芯片的手机。
但采用 QSDBx50 系列的装置是否支援还未清楚，当中包括 Nexus One, HTC Desire, HTC Evo 等。不过 CyanogenMod 团队有信心认为最终仍可支援这些装置！
Currently, you can compile CM9 for a small number of devices- notably the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (Wi-Fi and T-Mobile versions), the HP Touchpad and Motorola Xoom.
The next devices to show up will likely be a whole array of Samsung phones (Exynos chipset), with devices based on the Qualcomm MSM8660 and 7×30 chipsets to follow.
It’s still unclear if we can provide support for the QSD8x50 family of devices (Nexus One, HTC Evo, etc), but the answer almost always turns out to be “yes” for these kinds of things.
