据了解，CyanogenMod 7.2 Stable Release 亦会快将推出。
另外，很多 CM7 的用家都会有一个问题，之后 CM7 会何去何从？ CyanogenMod 之前在 Blog 内讲述了 CyanogenMod 7 的长远方向。
随着 Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich 出现，CyanogenMod 9 亦已经全速开发。但部份手机装置并不能升级上 ICS，亦不可刷上 CyanogenMod 9，只可继续使用 CyanogenMod 7.2。
7.x 分支会继续
CyanogenMod 团队明确表示，在 CM7.2 发布之后，7.x 的分支会保持开放继续开发，并提供予用家使用。
The 7.x branch of CyanogenMod will stay open, available, and active beyond 7.2. We may switch to a more weekly drop of the infamous nightlies at some point, but they will continue as well.
