Galaxy S III 的 Android 4.2.1 官方升级还未推出，Samsung 仍在进行测试，消息指会待 Galaxy S IV 发布后才会推出 Galaxy S III 的 Android 4.2.1 升级。
不过 SamMobile 就放出了 Galaxy S III Android 4.2.1 (JOP40D) Firmware 测试版 (I930XXUFMB3)。所知的改动主要是来自 Android 4.2 本身，例如 Lock Screen widget, daydream 等，但未见有 Samsung 自家的大改动。
