Google 宣布所有由 Gmail Server 进出的电邮，会全部经由加密的 HTTPS 连线。这样可大大提升电邮保安程度，避免其他人从中读取电邮内容。
Today’s change means that no one can listen in on your messages as they go back and forth between you and Gmail’s servers—no matter if you’re using public WiFi or logging in from your computer, phone or tablet.
Gmail 在第一天推出时已可支援 HTTPS 连线，到了 2010 年 HTTPS 连线成为默认选择，而今天起所有 Gmail 连线都会采用 HTTPS，就算是在 Google 内部 data center 的资料转移，亦会经过加密才进行。这样就可确保 Gmail 在发送接收，以至 Google 内部资料转移，都经加密保护。
当然作为用家，最好也采用 2-step verification ，进一步加强保护帐户。
