Skype 推出了新版本 v4.7，今次最主要就是大幅改善用电情况 (aggressive battery savings)。Skype 一直都在改善 App 的用电情况，现在终于有一个阶段性成果，而改进工作仍会继续。
暂停 Group Chat 即时通知
在新版本下，Skype 会暂停接收 Group Chat 讯息的即时通知，在将来的版本会再次开启这个功能。若果用家仍想接收 Group Chat 通知，可以在 “设定 > 通知” 选择在背景同步群组讯息。
避过 KitKat “mm-qcamera-daemon” Bug
早前 Google 确认在 Android 4.4 KitKat 有一个相机 Bug，会导致 mm-qcamera-daemon 持续扯高 CPU 用量而导致大幅耗电。Google 当中提到 Skype 会在背景程序存取相机功能，因而触发了这个 Bug。Skype v4.7 亦添加了一个折衷方法，避免触发 这个 KitKat “mm-qcamera-daemon” Bug。
另外亦修正在平板进行语音和视像通话的问题。

– Fix for audio and video calling on tablets that do not have Bluetooth.
– Now lists your Windows Live Messenger contacts in the Skype (default) view, not just the All contacts view.
