过往将 App 放上 Google Play Store 都是不用审批的，开发商自行上载简单地填上一些简介资料就可以。这个自由做法，对于开发商来说十分方便，将 App 上载，不消一会 App 就已经在 Play Store 上架，但全无审批的做法亦会引伸其他的问题，例如侵权, 不当内容等。
半自动, 人手审批
Google 最新就引入了半自动的审批机制，相信可以有效提升 Google Play Store 上架 App 的质素，但亦不会拖慢开发商发布新 App 的速度。
we began reviewing apps before they are published on Google Play to better protect the community and improve the app catalog. This new process involves a team of experts who are responsible for identifying violations of our developer policies earlier in the app lifecycle.
新审批机制会先有系统过滤出一些可能有潜在问题的 Apps，这些 Apps 就会再经由人手作审核检视，查看有否违返 Play Store 的开发商指引要求。而在 Developer Console 内，开发商亦可以查看 App 的 Publishing Status，是 Pending 还是 Rejected。
Google 指这个新机制已经开展了一段时间，相信运作得颇流畅，因为过去一段时间未听闻有开发商投诉在 Google Play Store 推出新 App 有延误。
在新机制下，相信那些侵权 Apps, 又或者如过往大量相同 “Flappy Bird” 出现的情况应会大幅减少。
