过往 Samsung 一直都有为 Galaxy S 系列推出 Active 防水版，而最新的 Galaxy S6 亦不例外。
专门跟进 Samsung 消息的 SamMobile 网站报道，Samsung 内部消息人仕透露 Samung 会推出防水版的 Galaxy S6 Active。S6 Active 型号为 SM-G890A，采用跟 Galaxy S6 一样的 5.1吋 2560×1440 Super AMOLED+ 屏幕，Exynos 7420 处理器, 32GB ROM, 3GB RAM，而相机则是 1600万和500万像素。
电量则提升至 3500mAh，机身亦会较大一点为 73.6 x 146.9 x 8.8mm。
