Google Play Store 上 Apps 的竞争十分激烈，每个类型的 Apps 都有数之不尽的选择，免费收费都有。若果 App 的用户评价不高, 下载量不大的话，很快就会在海量选择中沉没，难以突围而出。有部份 Apps Developer 会出古惑，自行制造假评论, 做五星评分，甚至自己谷大下载量，以求吸引大众的注意下载。

Google 也知悉有此问题存在，对于 Play Store 用家当然不好，用家或会被假评论假下载量蒙骗，打击用家体验亦影响了整个 Play Store Apps 生态发展。Google 最新就公布会在 Play Store 推出新的侦测和过滤系统可以防止有关情况。
Today we are rolling out improved detection and filtering systems to combat such manipulation attempts. If an install is conducted with the intention to manipulate an app’s placement on Google Play, our systems will detect and filter it. Furthermore, developers who continue to exhibit such behaviors could have their apps taken down from Google Play.
Google 表示若果安装 App 单纯只为了 App 在 Play Store 上的排名，系统会有能力可自动侦测到并会作出过滤。若果 Developer 一方持续有关做法的话，Google 会将有关的 Apps 下架。
Google 亦特提醒若 Apps 开发商聘请第三方以协助 Apps 推广的话，开发商应向有关公司确认以致遵守有关的规则。
