在 Google I/O 2017 Keynote 上，亦讲述了一些 VR 和 AR 的发展。
Samsung Galaxy S8 和 S8+ 将会在今年夏季会有软件更新，之后装置就会 Daydream-ready，可配合 Daydream VR 平台使用。Google 亦透露 LG 下半年一部旗舰装置亦会是 Daydream-ready。
跟 HTC VIVE, Lenovo 合作
Daydream 亦会支援 Standalone VR headset。不用连接电话或电脑可独立使用，装置会有全新的 Headset Tracking 技术 WorldSense，可以准确追踪头戴装置的在空间上移。Google 会跟 Qualcomm 合作制订 Standalone Headset 参考设计，并会跟 HTC VIVE 和 Lenovo 合作，预计今年稍后时间会有第一个装置推出。
Visual Positioning Services
AR 方面，今年夏天另一部 Tango 装置会推出市场，就是 Asus ZenFone AR。技术方面，Visual Positioning Service (VPS) 可以帮助装置更快更准确理解室内所在位置。GPS 用于室外，VPS 就可以用于室内可以帮助指引前往物件位置。例如在大型的家品又或博物馆，透过 VPS 技术装置可以判断周遭物件，识别出所在位置并在画面上显示指引前往方向。这些功能若配合声音界面辅助，可以用于协助视障人仕。
