Google 在 Android Support Page 贴文表示，Android 2.3.7 或较旧装置在 9月27日后将不能再使用 Google 服务。
Google 表示为持续保障用户安全，Google 将在 9月27日起不再容许运行 Android 2.3.7 或较旧装置登入使用 Google 服务包括 Gmail, Youtube, Maps 等。当使用这些装置在 9月27日之后登入时，就会出现用户密码错误的讯息。
As part of our ongoing efforts to keep our users safe, Google will no longer allow sign-in on Android devices that run Android 2.3.7 or lower starting September 27, 2021. If you sign into your device after September 27, you may get username or password errors when you try to use Google products and services like Gmail, YouTube, and Maps.
若果装置可以升级至较新版本 3.0+，Google 建议用户可将装置升级以便可继续使用 Google 服务。
Android 2.3 就是 Gingerbread 姜饼人，2.3.7 版本是在 2011年9月21日推出的，也就刚刚好十年时间。Gingerbread 可说是早期 Android 系统其中一个最稳定和被广泛采用的版本，它之后的 3.0 Honeycomb 就是为平板而设，再之后 4.0 Ice-cream Sandwich 又不是太稳定好用呢。
