Google 宣布 Google Play 服务将停止为 Android KitKat 版本推出更新。Android 4.4 KitKat 是一个于十前的操作系统版本，当时有着不少显著改动，可说是 Android 其中一个重要的里程碑。
不过 10年间科技发展迅速，Android 系统亦不断有新功能和改进，部份功能亦受限于系统，并未有向 Android 4.4 KitKat 推出。
Google 在 Android Developers Blog 上发布了一篇文章，表示目前使用 KitKat 设备的已经不足 1%，不少装置已经升级级，因此 Google 亦决定不再为 KitKat 系统更新 Google Play Services，KitKat 最后最新的 Google Play Service 版本为 23.30.99。
As of July 2023, the active device count on KK is below 1% as more and more users update to the latest Android versions. Therefore, we are no longer supporting KK in future releases of Google Play services. KK devices will not receive versions of the Play Services APK beyond 23.30.99.
