Google 在 Gemini Apps 帮助社群中发布了更新，解释了延期的原因：
Earlier this year, we shared our plans to upgrade the Assistant experience to Gemini on most mobile devices by the end of 2025. We’re adjusting our previously announced timeline to make sure we deliver a seamless transition, and will continue our work to upgrade Assistant users to Gemini on mobile devices into 2026. We’ll share more details on our plans in the coming months. Your feedback matters to us.
“我们正在调整先前宣布的时间表，以确保能提供无缝的过渡体验，并将在 2026 年持续进行将流动装置上的助理用户升级至 Gemini 的工作。我们将在未来几个月内分享更多详细计划。”
这项变动意味着 Google 意识到，“一刀切”地强迫所有符合硬件条件的用户切换到 Gemini 仍有风险。原本悬在用户头上的“2025 年底大限”警报解除，用户在 2026 年初仍能保留选择权，在 Gemini 与 Google 助理之间自由切换。
虽然 Google 没有给出 2026 年具体的完成日期，就算 Google Assistant 这刻不被淘汰，也不见得会有新发展改进，全面转向 AI 助手的方向并未改变。
