早前 LG 在 Facebook 表示，不会为 LG Optimus 2X 提供 Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich 升级。现在改口，表示现在仍未有Optimus 2X升级Ice Cream Sandwich的最终决定。
之前 LG 在 Facebook 回复查问时表示不会升级，写着：
We will not be introducing Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich updates to LG Optimus 2X P990.
被坊间舆论群插后，最近LG 向外国网站 Androidandme 表示现在仍测试Ice Cream Sandwich 在 Optimus 2X 的情况，未有升级的最终决定。
LG is still testing Ice Cream Sandwich on those two devices, and the ultimate decision on whether or not these devices will see the update will depend not only on the devices’ ability to handle ICS, but also whether or not the user experience with ICS on these devices will be a good one.
坎坷成长
虽说 Optimus 2X 是部双核旗舰机，但它的成长真是坎坷。推出时是 Android 2.2，到了现在还是运行 Android 2.2，未有 2.3 升级。但市面上新推白色的 Optimus 2X 郤是运行 Android 2.3。
跟着 Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich 推出，表示没有升级。现在又说仍在研究中。
