“Pry-Fi” App 是由知名 developer Chainfire 开发的新 App，可以将手机装置的 Mac Address 不断随机变化，以避免手机装置透过 Wifi 被追踪。当然手机是要 Root 的。
Wifi, MAC Address, 追踪
先讲讲情况问题，很多人都会一直开启着手机装置的 Wifi，到 Cafe, 商场, 又或一些公共设施时就自动接上提供的 Wifi 网络，可以免费上网。在 Wifi 扫描过程中，手机就会向外提供一些基本资料作扫描连接之用，例如 MAC address，以及之前已储存的 Wifi 网络名称地址。
A fairly new trend in (for example) retail is tracking customer’s movements by snooping Wi-Fi signals. If your Wi-Fi is turned on, even though it is not connected to any network, your phone will periodically broadcast a unique number (the MAC address), as well as all the Wi-Fi network names and addresses it remembers ever connecting to.
例如用家经常光顾连锁集团的 Cafe，若果对方 “有心” 的话，就可以借此追踪用家，翻查用家的行踪，识别出是否为重复访客，甚至跟店舖的零售系统配对，查找出用家的消费模式。
随意 Random MAC Address
当然较简单解决方法，就是不开启 Wifi，但就少了一点方便，亦不可透过 Wifi 改进定位。Pry-Fi App 就提供了一个可行的解决方法，当 Wifi 开启而未接上网络时，Pry-Fi 就会将手机的 MAC Address 以一个特定模式作 pseudo-random，”有心” 追踪的仍会视之为一个真人个体，不过 MAC Address 不会再被使用，他们的追踪数据就会掺入了很多组没关连的资料。
the MAC address will constantly be pseudo-randomized, following a pattern that still makes the trackers think you are a real person, … This will slowly poison their tracking database with useless information.
而当手机接上 Wifi 网络时，Pry-Fi 就会 random MAC address，而同一个 MAC Address 更不会重复在这个或其他的 Wifi Network 上使用。
War Mode
而 Pry-Fi 更有 War 模式，可以模拟成一大批人在使用 Wifi。只要在 Wifi 网络下启动 War Mode 数分钟，就可以将他们的追踪数据破掉。
Pry-Fi comes with a War mode, which when enabled tries to make your Android device appear like dozens of people. Just wandering around an area under Wi-Fi location surveillance for a few minutes can ruin the tracking data for the period of your stay.
